Our primary purpose to provide you a local contact, a trusted guide who knows not
only the local dialect but where to find the best food when you’re hungry, the coolest
shade when it’s hot, the fairest price on anything from a guitar to a villa. In
fact, the idea of this service was born of an experience that we had again and again:
we always found, no matter how fluent my Spanish, I was more warmly regarded as
equal when Serena would introduce me first than when I walked through a door by
myself. It’s human nature: people are more inclined to trust and less inclined to
exploit their own from the neighborhood than they are a foreigner.
